Making The Path truly International
It is a great paradox: the more "local" each tile appears to be to the maker, the more international The Path project appears and becomes!

Like a large patchwork, each little piece is important to help achieve the desired total effect. Just as these people would look quite ordinary dressed in suits, so "non-specific" tiles spoil The Path as it has been conceived.

Step-by-step
Yes, it is a great challenge, many tiles are not suitable and cannot be used. And working to specifications is especially difficult for potters who do not usually attempt figurative decoration or lettering. But as many tiles already in the Path witness, there are "all ways to skin a cat". Potters are inventive and creative, as the whole world should know!

For more ideas please study the inspirational tiles and see the new arrivals as well as the trans cultural exchange pages on this site. The little clipart vignettes on these introductory pages and along the top are also visual prompts on the vast diversity of subjects available around the world... Think of your "symbol" just add the country, region or town name and that is all there is to it!

The International Potters' Path is a celebration of diversity, with all continents, countries, races, colours and creeds united in peace and harmony.

Each tile represents over one million people living on our planet Earth, so each Path Maker is really "one in a million"
