What is The International Potters' Path?
It is a pathway, or more precisely a paved area of about 50 square metres, which will be completely covered with ceramic tiles, designed and hand-made by individual 'Path Makers' from around the world.
The International Potters' Path is much more than a celebration of ceramics. It is a one world project, which will include a contribution by 5000 Path Makers or individual ceramic artists, professional potters and tile-makers by the time it is completed.

Who and What are Path Makers?
Anyone who makes or commissions a tile for The International Potters' Path is called a Path Maker. They are all people who have stretched out a hand in friendship and co-operation, crossing borders and continents to meet here in Wales.

Why build a Potters' Path?
Firstly, the entrance to The Chapel of Art had to be made safe and accessible, especially for wheeled perambulation which was too difficult across little pebbles.

Secondly, ceramic tiles was the obvious choice for outside a venue famous for exhibiting high quality, contemporary ceramics.

Finally, as Internationalists themselves, Eckhard and Janet Kaiser have made The CoA into a place of international cultural exchange and embrace the active participation of like-minded people in all countries around the world.

So with all this in mind,
what better than a collaborative
international ceramic project paving the way?

But a lot of help is still needed here at The International Potters' Path…
Over 3000 tiles are still needed to complete this wonderful project!
