As reported in the last edition of The Chronicle, Elizabeth Ross, a native of Mexico City, will be visiting Criccieth and The CoA during her two-month lecture tour of Europe. On a short break following lectures in the south and before travelling on to Ireland and Scotland, Ms Ross will be taking this opportunity of delivering her country's first contribution to The International Potters' Path at The Chapel of Art in person.
It is with great pleasure The Chronicle can also report Ms Ross has kindly offered to give her lecture "Ceramica Mexicana" to us at The Chapel of Art on Friday, October 18th.
This will be an extremely interesting illustrated talk on Mexican ceramics from pre-Hispanic to modern times. Many readers will doubtlessly be as interested as North Wales artists, potters and students at this opportunity of learning more about a fascinating country and culture, illustrated through its ceramic history.
Spanish speakers among the Friends are especially welcome to help put Ms Ross at ease. She is particularlly keen to visit prehistoric sites in North Wales. Any Friends who would like to escort her to ancient monuments and other Celtic sites of historic interest, are requested to contact The CoA to arrange an itinerary for her. She will be staying with the Kaisers and is also looking forward to meeting many Friends during her short stay.
CoArt Trip 2002 Judging by the feedback, the art trip to Manchester can take place on November 6th. It will however be necessary to have at least forty-five prepaid bookings by October 10th. at the latest to ensure and confirm it goes ahead.
Please see inside for details and book your seat as soon as this edition of The Chronicle lands on your doormat. And please encourage your friends and family to join this year's CoA Art Trip with you.
